Halloween in the sun
By travelling to Gran Canaria during the autumn vacation our boys missed Halloween at school and also the Halloween activity at the Scouting/ Neighbourhood. They were a little disappointed by that.
Fortunately I remembered that our hotel also gets a bit in Halloween mood and this time they had packed some dracula or monstor capes.
And indeed, the hotel garden starting showing zombie wornings and skelletons and bloody signs those last days of October.

Remembering the odd horror yoga I participated in 2018, I showed up for a session of yoga again at Halloween. The teacher showed up in bloody shrubs but other than that he didn't push it as far as the one in 2018. No screaming and odd moves here, but the rest of the class was a rather normal yoga class. Oh well.
For the boys, there was a huge line-up in the morning at the kid's club to subscribe the children to one of the activities. It was the first year that we had to sign them up in the morning for activities of choice but usually there were always free spots. On Halloween, I was half an hour inline in the morning as all parents were lining up. Ironically (and smartly by the hotel) there was no number restriction to participate in the hotel's trick or treat so the lining up wasn't so important.
I subscribed them to making a scary trick our treat back
And then in the afternoon, all children could get bloody scary make-up. They dressed up then and then they could go and play trick and treat games at 4 stands in the hotel to collect horror themed candy (whcih they didn't like afterwards).
At each stand you had to feel , find, ...scary stuff and what you picked up determined in some sort of lottery how much candy you had won.
In the evening we let them stayed dressed up to go out for dinner in town. The waiters in the restaurants responded very cool and in the restaurants we saw some local kids coming by to do trick & treat as well.
And so it's the first time we've seen a Dracula in the sun...maybe if he's in a relax vacation mood, he supports the sun better.
