Visiting our Texan friends in their new home in Maastricht

When our Texan friends were visiting us for the world championships cycling in Leuven, they had brilliant news: they would relocate and leave the US behind to settle in Maastricht.  They had fallen in love with this city a few years before

So in autumn right when the NL went back into lockdowns, they arrived with first some temporary homes in Amsterdam and Eindhoven.  But now they've finally settled since a few months in their new home in Maastricht and it was due time we'd pay them a visit. So off we went early May.

First it was time to meet the animals that we only knew from the internet.  and to get a demo of the mighty robot drum that our friends build and perform with: Ponytrap.   Powerful to finally see it live! That's going to boost some future European festivals, for sure.

Then we went for a stroll downtown.  The clouds at the start passed away and we had a lovely lunch outdoors near the river Maas.

Our afternoon got treated by a great ice-cream before we headed back to Leuven.
